Im glad they updated this game and fixed some of the bugs.
As for my review:
This is the first of Benoit Sokals games (Syberia series creator), and its beautifully vivid and rich in imagery. I holds up well to the test of time. Really puts you in a strangely wonderful world, full of wonder...Amerzone is a magical place. The imagination and imagery of this game cannot be beat ...its not a flash in the pan, and doesnt try to extend itself with endless dialogue or superficial puzzles.
You find intuitive tasks as you go along, and have plenty of freedom to wander its world and explore. Its a short game (a couple of hours or so ) because there are no endless dialogues, and the journey is fairly solitary in how straightforward it is. But its not pretentious. Its a true old school point n click adventure game, with some breathtaking locations. An old favorite. Intuitive puzzles, nothing too hard.
Anyone expecting a shooting game, or something full of endless puzzles should avoid this. Pour yourself some tea or a glass of wine and enjoy exploring the locale as well as this really sweet story.
